In a fine but now broken early 20th century binding of green morocco gilt which has the original, if soiled, browned and discreetly repaired wrappers bound in, it was complete with 15 engraved and coloured plates.
The record it bettered was set way back in 1993, when a copy in the original wrappers made $8000 as part of the Frank Hogan library at Christie’s New York.
