Christie’s pleased with South Ken venture
CHRISTIE’S are pleased with the initial response to their South Kensington venture in the Debenham Coe saleroom in the Old Brompton Road.
Last week saw the sale of a pair of large Chinese fish bowls for £1500, well over the estimate, and, although the specialist staff in King Street and Kensington are advising vendors to place goods in one or other saleroom according to their value and appeal, quite a number of owners are insisting on having their pieces sold in Kensington because of the much quicker turn around.
NOW
This is one of ATG’s earliest reports on the newly opened CSK. As covered in this week’s News pages, the saleroom is now facing closure.
