The 2ft 9in (93cm) wide, brass-mounted table has an estimate of $1500-3000 in the auction to be held in Bloomfield, New Jersey, on April 15.

John Nye had a long career at Sotheby’s before he and his wife, Kathleen, acquired Dawson’s in 2003 and started Dawson & Nye.
With the move to Bloomfield seven years later, they renamed the business to Nye & Company.
