Included in a wide selection of lighting is this French 1920s hand-painted polychrome ceramic table lamp by Jean-Jacques Lachenal (1881-1941). His father, Edmond Lachenal, was one of the leaders of the French art pottery movement.
Little is known of Jean-Jacques’ early life. However, after serving in the First World War he reopened kilns at Chatillon and employed around 20-30 wounded soldiers. He promoted Cubist-inspired ornament.
This example of his work is available for £1580.
