Bruce Fearn: ‘It was a privilege to have known him’

We knew each other from our young days.

I practised law in Nottingham and remember a young, good-looking, dark blue-suited Bruce with a matching blue E type Jaguar, quite the man about town.

Bruce built the auction house Neales of Nottingham into one of the finest regional auction houses.

My law firm received excellent service from Bruce. I attended many of his auctions; he was clear and in control from the rostrum and they were a pleasure to attend

Bruce (together with his wife Susan) produced clear, interesting and readable auction catalogues.

I was always amazed at his work rate, lotting sale after sale and never seeming to flag.

We have lost a great representative of the auction house profession. It was a privilege to have known him.
