When actor and avid antiques collector Richard E Grant live-streamed on Instagram his visit to the launch of the Decorative Home & Salvage Show at the Bathurst Estate in Cirencester Park last year, he told his 470,000 followers that it was “the perfect place to snuffle out gubbins”.

It certainly was as there were strong sales across the board, said AS Fairs’ director Richard Burgoin, adding: “We were overwhelmed by how popular the event was, especially as it was the first one.”

And now the show is back in the same location running this time from Friday to Sunday, June 21-23.

“It’s looking to be a great event again and we are fully booked with 90 quality dealers from around the UK,” said Burgoin, who advised checking on the organiser’s website a week ahead of the show for the full line-up of exhibitors.

Interiors twist

One exhibitor who is getting his stock ready for the trip is Dave Harris, owner of the Devon-based decorative dealership Stag & Squire which he has run for 30 years.

He said:“We are doing AS Fairs’ Cirencester fair for the first time and our pieces will have a strong twist on the decorative interior. A few items of note are the wonderfully exuberant 19th century Italian saltglazed terracotta wine or champagne cistern [pictured above], with handles with characterful bearded faces, priced at £2500.

“Plus a wonderful pair of large Parisian wirework garden urns, a rare and decorative pair of Hoshiarpur side tables, as well as a fine and rare pair of Anglo-Indian plantation chairs and lots of stunning and unusual pieces for the garden.” n
