Offered by Highland Antiques for £695, the case was made by William Neale in Chester, 1908, and is engraved: Hurrah for Woman Suffrage.

Dealer Mike Wilson from the Aberdeen firm says: ‘Suffragette collectables are always sought after. They remind us of a very different period of our history when, after more than 50 years of campaigning, the Suffragette movement brought about a major change in the constitution.”

The fair runs from May 10-12 at The Pavilion Gardens, hosting around 40 exhibitors.

Newcomers include Rastall Fine Art, Dales Antiques, Walker Galleries and Kore Purchase Decorative Antiques with early country furniture, while among the returning dealers are Plaza, Haynes Fine Art, AW Briggs, Hispanic Antiques and Solo Antiques.

Now in its 58th edition the fair has hosted some exhibitors for more than 20 years including Sheldon Shapiro, Mark Buckley Antiques and Richard Glass Antiques.
